Welcome To The Dorks
Thank you for joining us.
So we are the Dancing Dorks. Obviously we dance, but not in real life. We do our work on a game called ourWorld. It's a worthwhile game, although the filter does get annoying sometimes (BE WARNED: When you first join, there may be bullies that call you names and put you down, but as you get higher in level, players will harass you less. Try not to do it yourself when you get into the higher levels. If people are harassing you to the point where you just want to quit, then block them and/or report them. It seems stupid, but it works). It looks easy to just dance to a song and take pictures, but it's as simple as that. Choosing the song is easy; choosing the dance move is more complicated. It has to fit the song, otherwise it does't look right. We also have to try and not repeat dance moves or artists too often which isn't easy either. Since there's two of us, we have to agree on them. Sometimes we do, sometimes we don't. Also following the topic of there being two of us, we have to figure out times that we can get on at the same time and do it. There's a three hour time difference between us, so it takes a little work to get on at the exact right time. And then taking the pictures. It's much harder than it looks to capture the right picture. We don't magically have a chat bubble appear above our heads. We actually have to type it, while clicking the dance move on time, and then take a photo at the right time. You try it; it's not easy. Or maybe it is and I'm just not coordinated enough for it to be easy for me. Hm...
Sometimes we can't do it, so it's marked as "Occupied Day" or "Occupied Time Lapse" in the Songs page. Most of the time, we're able to do it. But keep in mind that we're humans too; we have a life to live. We're not going to be on that game 24/7, no matter how tempting it is.
Haley and I are the founders of the Dancing Dorks and it started when I was using the flow shovel to dig up some flow. It was a typical day and everything. However, it was one of those weeks where you immediately think of a song if somebody says something to trigger it. Like "dogs" would trigger "Who Let The Dogs Out". It's happened before. I really couldn't find any flow and I'd been at it for almost an hour. Eventually, I found some and it was a huge amount. And I mean huge. I got excited, and Haley said "Let's celebrate!". The song "Celebration" came to mind and I started typing it and sending it while dancing. She joined in, and we realized that we looked like dorks that were dancing, thus creating the Dancing Dorks. It was only a few days later when we decided to actually make it all real. That's how it started; simple things can turn into big ideas. Keep that in mind.
Well, if you want to contact either of us, go to our "profiles". Haley is Dancing Dork 1, and I am Dancing Dork 2. I am begging you right now...do not spam us with chain letters or chain mail or anything like that. Anyways, if you want to find us on ourWorld (we have different names occasionally), Haley's username is Ghostly Vision and mine is DunDunDUUUUUN. I've had 9 different names, this one being the 9th. I'm not sure how many Haley's had...but if you want to know what names we've already had, just ask. And add us, too. The more the merrier.
Cheers! xx
